Day 10

Today was really the laziest day ever, I just walked around the old quarters, planned my trip to Da Nang, ate something, and chilled at home. I’m going to Da Nang with a night bus, I booked it in the hotel and it costed me 25$. The cheapest flights I found online were for about 35$ so it’s a little cheaper like that, I’ll write if it’s also comfortable or if it’s maybe worth it to fly.
It started to rain in the afternoon and I was still a little tired from the long night yesterday so I went to the hotel and chilled a bit. In the evening I went again to the two bars and partied with the same girls I met yesterday. It was pretty fun and it was my last night here so why not^^ This time I didn’t stay this long though, just until 2am because I have to check out tomorrow at 11am.
But if you want to go to Hanoi to party you’ll have no problems finding a bar that you like, the night life here is so huge and you can meet so many nice people. Also many other tourists with which you can exchange your stories and give each other recommendations for everything, so it’s pretty helpful to go in a bar for a little chat. But maybe you’ll have some problems with the music, most of the bars and clubs all play this more or less trash techno music, which I have no problem hearing it, but if you hear it for 4-5h it can get a little annoying^^ but anyways you can also find bars who play another kind of music, you just have to look a little harder^^
The food I ate were a tofu noodle soup for breakfast which was pretty good, a iced lemon tea to cool down from this awesome hot weather *-* The tea was cheap, just 10.000 VND, you can find stands selling them all around the lake with the red bridge I wrote about earlier. For lunch I had this South Vietnamese beef noodles at a place called “Bun Bo Nam Bo” which is pretty famous for them and they really tastet great, pretty sweet but still great. And for ‘Dinner’ I had a grilled pork stick from the street.
I also found out why the Vietnamese people like my long hairs so much and why they don’t grow their hair apart from the obvious fact that it’s pretty hot with so much hair on your head in this country^^ Because it’s so hot here they also sweat a lot and this makes their scalp very itchy. It’s also said that Asians have more sweat glands than the westerns so that’s maybe also a point why their heads gets easier itchy than mine.

Vietnamese Phở Soup

Day 1

Today was the first day after the landing, I slept well and was ready to go. The flights were all good and the dinner on board was pretty good for a plane meal.

I started today with a huge bowl of noodle soup with beef in it. I tastes great! The restaurant“ was just a small stand on the sidewalk were an old lady cooked the noodles an filled everything in the bowls. Next to the stand there were some very small tables and stools. Another women who ordered the soup too, got it about 2/3 minutes earlier than me but she ate it so extremely fast that I still ate on it while double the time passed. I noticed this also the other times I ate today, Vietnamese people don’t just eat very much but the also eat very fast! I don’t get how they can eat so fast while still looking very calm and relaxed^^

The soup was delicious af especially after the exhausting flights and everything. On the table were also some sauces and limes to enhance the meal. I took a red hot sauce, some chili and the juice of a piece of lime. The broth was at the and very spicy and it really helped to get my nose free 😅
After visiting a lake and getting some good drinking water from a store nearby, I met some guys and we went into a café. They ordered a coffee for me and told me that the Vietnamese love their coffee. They also ordered a balloon full of laughing gas, which is somehow a thing down there, they said it would make you feel the music^^
The guys also brought me to a very small hotpot restaurant a bit away from the tourist center. The broth was very good and you could really taste the lemongrass out of it. The meat was pretty chewie and as I learned after the meal, it was tiger meat O.o
It was also pretty expensive, so if someone wants to go eat with you, better ask what he wants to order an how much it’ll cost^^
After some more sightseeing in the citadel of Hanoi and learning some historical background of the city, I went to a café to get an ice crushed green tea. After that I went back home to get my insect spray, it got slowly darker and the mosquitoes were starting to fly (>.<)
